The Flag of Fire

February 11-14, 2016 at Clark, Pampanga, Philippines - one of the greatest balloon festivals celebrated it's 20th anniversary this year and Kubicek was also present. The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta saw a real star this year, a true beauty, the Kubicek "Bandera ng Apoy - The Flag of Fire" BB26Z envelope, flown by true adventurer and sky sailor Jonathan R. Trappe. The envelope was welcomed by an applauding crow of proud locals. Seeing the national flag flying above their heads is a felling to remember, Jonathan even flew some of them in the balloon during the fiesta. For most of them, it was their first time flying anything at all—their true first time in flight. (No prior flights in airplanes, helicopters, gliders--- their first flight was under their national flag, our hot air balloon.) We are proud to have been a part of such a great national ballooning event! Thank you Jonathan, thank you Philippines!
