Report from Mike Bauwens, Kubicek Balloons US National Sales Manager from Utah:
Here are a few photos of Betty and I in the xRacer on a contour crossing of the Wasatch Mountains between Salt Lake and Park City. There is a video of the crossing complete with a ride through a nasty rotor. The racer did very well and I prefer it to a round one, even in a rotor.
Following are the specs:
Betty and I launching at foot of Wasatch (Salt Lake side), low level crossing on front side of mountains. Jumped the drainage winds and rode the uppers up the terrain. 55 kmh crossing of sunlit ridgetop at 3000m above sea level (photo attached, very top of Canyons Ski Resort), dropped below ridgetop and negotiated a rotor. Was trying to skim just above the rotors Top speed 76 kmh at 3400m after exit from the rotor (see photo of Park City Ski Area below).
Stand up landing next to our house.
